From Jason----It's Time!!!!!

Can you smell that? I can. Fall is almost here, the leaves will be changing and there is a smell in the air around here. What is the smell??? Bar-B-Q!!! Which can mean only one thing. Football season is upon us. Time for goosebumps, tailgaiting and nail biting.

It's time to watch the boys in navy blue take the field to do battle. Time to make some noise. Time to hollar WAR EAGLE to everyone you know (even if they are from Tuscalooser). It's time to put your AU flag or sticker on your car.

It's time for 13 weeks of Auburn football.

It is the greatest time of year to be here on the "lovliest village on the plain"!!!

WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Auburn Bash at Storybook Farm

It's that time of year again....Storybook Farm's yearly Auburn Day for the riders and their families. It has been pouring down rain here all day and the wind has been kicking, but us along with many other families of Storybook riders all gathered in the barn to socialize and meet the Freshman football players, cheerleaders, and Aubie. I guess you could say no rain or wind will keep an Auburn fan away. There was popcorn, Gatorade, and slushies and treats and lunch provided by Bruster's Icecream, Moe's, and Chick-Fil-A. There was face painting and balloon animals/friends--Emily got a pink poodle and Trey got a white motorcycle. There were games and prizes, the cheerleaders handed out cups and there were Auburn fans and shakers and schedule posters for souvenirs, and of course we were able to get autographs. It was really a good time for all!!

Thank you Storybook Farm for all that you do and all the love you show to children with special needs and their families! We did get a few pictures of the football players, but we didn't ask their permission to put pictures of them on the page so there are none here.

Boys Painting

Saturday night while Jason and Emily were at the church for a concert the boys and I enjoyed some painting. Cody was concentrating very hard on a Sponge Bob painting but decided to stop painting that (thank goodness, we are not big Sponge Bob fans) and made a very nice water, sun, and sky painting. Trey was enjoying himself with some water paints just free-style painting.

After the concert Jason came home and worked on his painting skills too. I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Tomorrow starts the first full week of school

Well, as the title states, tomorrow starts the first full week of school. Both kids have seemed to have a good half week last week. Emily likes her teachers and has finally gotten a locker that she can both open and reach. Trey seems to like his teachers allot, he hasn't said if he likes the kids, but the teachers are his friends. His main teacher has called to tell us how she has enjoyed him so far and just touched base with us and that was a real comfort to us. Trey has enjoyed both home and school lunch, he hasn't said which he likes more but he seems to every other day want the opposite of that day. Emily has had to have lunch at the school once, the first day she forgot her lunchbox, and after almost a year of school lunches last year and the one day this year she is convinced that she likes home lunch more. Trey has a harder time getting up and started in the mornings, he wants to watch TV and doesn't want to get dressed or it is to early for him to want to eat yet. Emily on the other hand gets up with the alarm and dressed and gets her own breakfast and is good to go. I am hoping as Trey gets used to it he will get better and not worse.

Cody starts school tomorrow. We haven't spoken to him to see if he likes the teacher(s) he will have. There was an open-house last week for him but we weren't able to make it. So, Friday we will get to hear all about his new Middle School and see if he is still having an adventure figuring out where places are.

As some of you might already know, I was offered a job as an assistant teacher at one of the Christian preschools. I told the director that I will let her know Monday, tomorrow, if I will take the job. I think that I am leaning towards taking the job....I am pretty sure that I am going to take it. It is a great opportunity for me to make friends and in addition to that I will be working with someone who is experienced with working with toddlers and will be able to teach me some things for my Sunday School class. I will let you know how it goes.

Today was the first day of school

The kids were off to school today. Emily was up with her alarm clock at 6 am and Trey woke up shortly after. At first he was happy and excited but then he had to get dressed and the TV had to go off and that made his early morning turn bad. Tears everywhere. But luckily he got happy again and got dressed, put on his stinky Skating Elmo bookbag and his new tennis shoes and off to the car we all went. Emily during all of this was either eating happily or putting on her really nice and not stinky bookbag and new shoes.

Emily got to school early, well, on time at a little after 7--has to be there no later than 725. But because of traffic Trey actually got to his school at 730 on the nose or maybe even a few minutes later, which meant that we were late. Luckily so was everyone else because traffic is horrible so if didn't count.

While the kids were at school Jason went to work and I went to the church to put my room back together for Preschool Choir that starts tonight. I had to take all of the VBS decorations down to put summer behind us and prepare for the new church year. So, right now the theme is nothing, but I have the choir stuff done.

The kids both said they had a good day. Trey had a good time, but he didn't really talk about it much. He did however answer a few questions like: Did you make any friends? Yes, Mrs. Cimo and Mrs. Eiland, his teachers. Any kid friends? No answer, but he did tell Jason yes and there names were friends. Did you like lunch? Yes, yummy like fruit salad--he had pizza.

Emily had a great day, we knew she would. She said she didn't make any new friends, but met up with some old ones. She had to swap lockers because they gave her a top locker and she couldn't see the dial so they gave her a bottom locker and it is stuck. So she is currently having locker drama. And in the whole sticking with Emily being Emily thing, she forgot her lunch this morning. We had given her just in case lunch money and it came in handy. She said although her pizza was fine she would not be forgetting her lunch tomorrow.

After school we went to Frog Legs in Opelika. Thanks Christy for recommending it on your blog. The kids had a great time. The slides were hard for Trey to climb up, Emily was able to help on most of them but there were a few that she couldn't help him with. But they both had a great time and enjoyed it. They are looking forward to going back again.

Now we are off to church for Puppets, Preschool Choir, Mission Friends, Daniel Class, and Emma.

School starts tomorrow

I can not believe it, school is here and summer is almost over. I wish someone would tell the heat that. The kids (Emily and Trey) start school tomorrow. I think they are both excited although Trey does sometimes say, "No, I'm stay home." Cody starts in Wetumpka on the 11th. He will be starting a new school, he is excited because he doesn't know his way around and therefore it wont be boring because he has to find everything. He will be going to the middle school there in Wetumpka, I guess the name is Wetumpka Midddle School. Emily will be in the 6th grade at Sanford Middle School and Trey will be in Kindergarten at Beauregard Elem. I have met Trey's two teachers and his helper. They all seem very nice. Trey has started using the potty more, but still wearing pull ups. He even last night when he was supposed to be in bed got up without telling us and got on the potty and went alone, of course he called for help when there was a puddle on the floor, but he basically did it on his own. I was so proud of him. I know that when he gets older he will say why did you put that story out there for people on the Internet to read. But I will still think it was cute.

I will post pictures tomorrow of the kids on their first day of school.

I am so excited!!!!

I just spoke with Paul and Christine and they said that they have doctor's appointments on Thursday and Friday and hopeful an ultrasound earlier than that to see how the baby is doing and maybe the sex. Right now there is a due date of December 26.

Please do remember them in your prayers, just to keep everything going great. Thanks!
