Yesterday we went out for a Valentines Day Movie Treat, we saw Star Wars Episode 1.
I am not a Star Wars fan but Jason and Trey are and I believe that Emily is a secret fan. I wanted to see it because everyone else wanted to see it, even Emily, who said it would be nice to watch it without the dragging of the over watched VCR tape that she usually experiences while watching it in the boy's room with Trey.
It was in 3D. It was cool. I haven't watched a 3D movie in a long time because I wear glasses and the one time I have tried to watch a 3D movie with my glasses on it made me sick to my stomach and gave me a headache, and seriously, why would Hannah Montana have a 3D movie? Well, yesterday I wore my contacts and made sure everyone had the adult glasses (Emily wears glasses so they fit over her glasses with no problem), Trey did have the kid glasses but he didn't wear them for the entire movie.
I wanted to take a nap during most of the movie but I did find that the storyline was interesting. I kept asking Jason who each character was and making sure that Ani was Darth Vader. By the end of the movie I told him that we needed to watch the other movies so I could see how the story plays out. He told me that was the best thing that I have ever said to him. It was a funny statement. So, now I see Star Wars movie nights in my future, after we replaced before mentioned over watched dragging VCR tapes with DVDs or Bluerays.
I do have to say I have watched at least one other Star Wars movie in my life. I don't remember which one it was but Luke, Han Solo, Chewie, C3PO, and R2D2 were in it. I was probably Trey's age though at the time.
I am glad we had the opportunity to make this memory for our children!

Last night we went to a very poweful dinner/talk at Lakeview Baptist Church. It was for parents with special needs children. The guest speaker was Greg Lucas. He has a special son. I haven't read his book but plan to. He shared Mark 9:14-27, The Glory of God in the Valley of Disability. There were some awesome points in this message, not only for special needs parents, but everyone. I want to share the points--
1. Run to Jesus! (with your most desperate and entire scenario!). (vs. 14-18)
2. Recognize spiritual warfare but focus on the soverignty of God. (vs. 17-18, 20-22)
3. Trust God with your doubt and ask for greater faith. (vs. 22-24)
4. Meditate often on the ressurrection. (vs. 25-27) But Jesus.....
God ask questions to get to the heart of the answer--Him, He already knows the answers, He knows all. He asks the questions to show you the answers are in Him.
In Mark 9:17 (NIV), it says: A man in the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech.--We can go to God, we can bring our child/ren to Him, insert your child's name. Teacher/Jesus/God, I brought my son Trey to you...... Teacher/Jesus/God, I brought my daughter Emily to you..... Teacher/Jesus/God, I brought my son Cody to you...... Tell God your scenario, what's going on. Run to Jesus!
I wanted to share these points.

I wanted to share a poem I saw on a special needs message board today
When I read this poem, I thought someone has walked in my shoes. It is a great poem. I am so glad someone wrote it, but it wasn't me.
To My Anticipated Son ~ by Kathleen Hoppe 08/95
♥
I anticipated complaining of a waking baby;
Not of being grateful he's able to wake at all.
I anticipated the wonder of time rushing past;
Not of reflecting on milestones so small.
I anticipated crying at immunizations and bumps while learning his way;
Not of agonizing at more tests, evaluations, and word of more delays.
I anticipated choices over preschool, clothes, and scout troops;
Not of choices between hospitals, specialists, and which support groups.
I anticipated loving him, but enjoying his independence from me soon;
Not of loving him so much I'd want to keep him sheltered in my cocoon.
I anticipated health and perfection when my baby was inside, thinking
anything less would be tragic;
But now that he is here, my special son has worked some kind of magic.
I anticipated anger and disappointment at this fate;
Not the joy and growth and knowledge that have become mine as of late.
I anticipated something different, that is certainly true;
But that's because I never could have anticipated one I love as much as you.
